Thanks to semoREDNECK we were able to remove a couple of wheel weights on my 1946 Old Red H yesterday. It has doubles on each side. Most of the embedded bolt heads were square but of the smaller variety. We turned the heads 45 degrees to the square indentation then hammered in a bolt in the upper corner so the head wouldn't rotate while removing the nut. These bolt threads have at least 2 coats of paint on them. I still have one bolt that is a 1 1/6 badly worn hex head and we had no luck keeping the head from turning trying to remove the nut. I had an 8 point socket on it and it rotated in the socket. Other than buying a 6 point 1 1/16 socket, are there any successfull techniques you have used to keep the bolt head from rotating while removing the nut? Thanks in advance!
