Got to thinking about making a stock pulling tractor. I am not going to go spastic over souping it up. I want a solid build when I do it, but I am not going to go crazy with gizmo's.
problably will do the domed pistons, cam, head, and carb. That's it.
So, here is my question. Since the SM and the W9 are close in weight, seems to me the W9 would be a better platform to build from because of the HP / CID.
although, since the SM is a bit lighter, I could certainly get into at least 1 lower than 5500. So, the SM is more flexible on the HP to weight perspective.
A "setup" SM is a beast to beging with, but the W9 is definately a "get down and dirty "right out of the box".
This is kind of a "what if" question. Since I am not even sure if I am going to do this, thought I would post here before posting on the pulling boards. Thoughts?
