About 66 PTO hp. A deisel will have either the 310 or 312 engine. Good tractors since they first appeared as the 656 in 1966. A great "midrange" tractor for the smaller farmer. The gas 656 we own has well over 20K hours on it. To my knowledge no one has ever identified a specific inherent weakness anywhere on them.
They do have the old style mechanical TA that traces its roots back to the Super MTA. If its out it will run fine in the "high side" for years. Ours went almost 8 years and several thousand hours that way but it wasn't needed as at that time the tractor was used mainly for light pulling and PTO work.
