I have to agree whole-heartedly with Mike. I would have to say that your problem lies in beating on your sleeve - NOT, as you suggest, in putting them in the freezer. I have done many sleeves in this way and NEVER had a problem. Often they will slide nearly all the way in by themselves if you get them right out there and get them installed while they are good and cold. (the warmer the block - the easier it will go.) I think that suggesting that this is the WRONG way of installing sleeves is going a bit overboard. Caution is needed more than a different method... at least in my opinion. -Tom
