On my H I have not removed my crankshaft pulley or timing cover, however I did remove my governor for cleaning and painting purposes. I had thought (incorrectly?) that the governor is not actually "timed" to the engine.
Now I have read some other posts where the governor is timed via two dots on the camshaft gear. So my question is: is the governor in fact actually "timed" to the engine? Can someone please explain to me why the governor is timed to the engine since I don't really understand why.
One last question: can I reinstall the governor "in time" to the engine without removing the crankshaft pully and timing cover?
