The sleeves are attached only at the top and bottom. The top is set into a recess in the head and the flange of the sleeve fills this recess. The bottom is just a few thousandths clearance fit into the bottom of the water jacket. It has a large "O"ring that seals it to prevent water in the oil. Make a puck, and push it out from the bottom, they will come easily with full edge pressure, or pounding. Jim
