Good question. I believe it is Load. The internal workings of a four terminal Delco regulator of that type send generator output directly to the Devices attached to it. Including lights, but in other applications, it could include radios or other "loads". This allows a more controlled charge rate to the battery (according to theory) while providing less drop off of current to loads. Alternators, make use of a similar control concept by taking a sensor (voltage) reading on the #2 terminal from close to the battery. Avoiding voltage drop from the battery through the main output wire. Jim.
