To get a sense of the right color (nothing too precise, mind) google up some pics of the blue the Navy used on its later prop planes (search on F4U), and imagine that color being lighter/milkier, to the point of starting to be bright. Right on the cusp of being dark/light blue, definitely not on the sky blue side of that range.
