Two different SMTAs with Behlen PS. You can see the priority valve in the second picture.
Both CharLynn and Behlen will give you two finger steering. Behlens were first used in 1954 on 400s. CharLynns were first used by IH in 1962 on the 504.
Complete take-off systems are offered fairly regularly on eBay. They generally go for $500 and above.
I prefer the Behlen with its awkward appearance and closer availability to the SMTA from a time perspective. They were sold as OEM and aftermarket. Not sure when the aftermarket units were first offered. The input shaft on the aftermarket unit is threaded for the steering wheel. The 400 units have a shorter shaft by several inches and are not threaded.
