After a long, hard fight, my son and I got the A running today. It turns out it was out of time. The magneto impulse coupling was doing its job about the time the piston was at the bottom of the stroke. I had taken out the magneto and didn't get it back in the right spot. But we figured out where it should be firing, bolted it up and it started on two pulls. No problems at all. Still a little to do, but here are some shots of it. If it looks pink, it's the light when we took the pictures. Honest!!
