I would follow Red's advice and go find a JD or another mower for $140 to $200 and put the rest into getting the hydraulics fixed. After you make one or two rounds around the field with just manually raising the mower, the fun will be out of it. My sickle mower is a manual raise that I have converted to hydraulics and it is not fun trying to lift the bar that is loaded with heavy damp hay.
