I have an early IHC brochure, but there is no date (as usual--mfrs. seem to be cagey about this). It says, "Pneumatic tires for Farmall-H are 5.50-16 in front and 10-38 on the rear." I would guess that this brochure was published about 1941. For the M, the tires were 6.00-16 front and 11-38 rear. I believe it is true that 36" tires were offered on the early models, but don't have any information here (Nebraska tests may show the smaller sizes). It was common to put wider tires on tractors when the originals were replaced, so what you see on these tractors today may not correspond with the original sizes. Also, I think the recent sizing numbers don't correspond exactly with the widths of the older tires.
