I have a Farmall 400 gas and it has a 12 volt system. My parts manual shows a 6volt with a postive ground. I have read that the later 400 gas come with 12 volts like the diesel. How can I tell which one came with the tractor? I believe it to be 6 volts as the fuse was removed by the previous owner, and the amp. gauge reads backward. The tag has been painted over and I need to get something to remove the paint, lightly sanding reveals 35020 B or maybe R but that doesn't match with the data for the 400. Any suggestions will be appreciated thank you John.
