an old neighbor of mine added a step to his JD 4040 by bending a 2x1/2 flat bar into a step shape so the top could be bolted up under the existing steps and then welded some peices of combine rasp bars across the lower part to make the foot pad, worked real good for him since he had lost his hip joint to infection prior to making the step. been thinking about building me one for my 2030 ,that two foot first step is a long one.
