You said the 686 had a german engine also? I might be wrong but I was thinking the 666 and the 686 had the american 312 motor. They used the German 310 in the late 706 and the 756. The 826 has the German 358 that they also used in the 886 and the 3288 thru 1985. Never heard of water getting in the oil on the german motors like the 400 series motors, (414 436 466)
