I had to take one of mine apart two years ago because the spindle broke off the bottom of the adjustable tube, Half a can of PB Blaster, several heat and cool cycles, a BFH and a porta power pushing off a steel plate against the steering box, the next morning it finally came apart, got it welded back together, cleaned it up good and applied a thick coat of never sieze and put it back together, bottom line is absolutely needed high heat, oxy/acet. NOT map or propane torch, not near hot enough, I had the outer tube RED hot.
