Ok...the system is working properly. since you have a mag, you don't have an conventional ignition switch, which is normally used on battery ignition to turn everything off.
OK, if you don't want to change the mag to a distributor, merely put a toggle switch in series with the ground wire to turn off the gauge. I thing is draws very little power, if the tractor is used often, it wont be an issue, but if it sits a lot, it would eventually drain the battery.
