The fuse should be on the supply side of the light switch as this protects the most components. Amp gauge, fuse holder side terminal, fuse holder rear terminal, light switch. I also recommend a fuse link in the Alt output (heavy) wire this can prevent tractor fires if a diode pack goes in the alt. 5 amps greater than the Alt amp rating. Available at NAPA or other store.
