My loader tractor is an M with 7.50 X 16 front tires, an F11 loader with a 8 foot bucket. At present no power steering. Equipped with a Schwartz front end. With a load in the bucket this unit was almost impossible to steer, so I lengthened the front spindle steering arm 4 1/2 inches-no change to the bellcrank at the bolster- drilled and tapered holes for the ball joint studs, adjusted the tie rods to align the wheels and took it out to try. I chained a 9N tractor minus the block and rear tires to the front of the bucket and lifted same. Going to my shop I could easily steer,no more standing up and straining. I was advised that this would drastically change the turning radius, but because of the way the tie rods are attached to the bellcrank at the bolster, I noticed very little difference. Thought I would try this experiment before mounting my PS unit just to satisfy my curiosity. Sorry this is so long, but thought it might help others.
