If it was an early 706 with the D282 engine, the D236 would bolt right in.
460 diesels are pretty rare from what I can tell. I think you'd do darn well selling the engine. Use the money for rebuilding the D310 in your 706, or finding another German diesel out of a combine or something.
You'll spend just as much money buying the parts to install the D236 in the 706.
