Im working on a 450 with a TA, it worked earlier this month when it was warmer and now it slips under load. I could not get it to slip at all in 4th gear going up hill and pushing on the breaks. I checked the rearend oil very milky with about the texture of fresh bulk tank milk, yet coffey color. Two questions first could the water in the oil be causing the one way clutch to slip? Also if that is not the problem what goes out in these TA's, im assuming its this one way clutch when sliping in low range? Fianlly if all the rest of the parts in the TA are fine can i just replace this one way clutch? Im going to drain it and run some diesel though it latter today. Perhaps something is stuck from the water and oil?
