To replace the rusted out tail wheel on my uncle's old little genius plow, I picked up a 4.80x12 trailer spare at Harbor Freight on sale. On sale, plus 20% off coupon, I think I spent $37 total including the bogus NYS "tire disposal fee."
We spent 5 minutes on paperwork... but it was a lot cheaper than an actual implement tire.
Cut the center out of the old plow rim, cut the center out of the trailer tire, welded the desirable parts together.
Harbor Freight also has an 8" trailer spare. Check the weekly coupon book that the marketers mail you for a 20% off coupon if you have a store near you.
