this is achieved by narrowing the width of the water pump pulley. loosen the set or locking screws on the outer half and use a long brass punch if possible and turn the pulley so it squeezes the belt.good idea to turn engine over to help bring belt up on pulley. also may need a lot of tapping and penetrating oil as pulley likes to get seized. generator has the same set up.
