I have always pulled the mag then the plate on the block side can be removed and the condensor will slide out backwards. The baakelite washer the condensors stud goes thru mite be removed if you can get the condensor to move back at an angle enough but it will be hard to do. Iv heard of it being done but wandered if the rear plate was gone so they could back the condensor up enough to remove as over the years the back dust plate has been removed and not replaced. good luck
