M front end

I was out playing with the tractors today and notice on the lower part of the front end,accually where the spindles come out.the is what appears to be a bell with a lightning bolt going through it.Whats that for?Is it a syblem of a company that made these peices for IH?Also on my other M the bolster is backwards.What I mean is that the symbol I found is toward the back of the tractor instead of the front and when I compared the two one was one opposite the other but they both looked ok to me.Just something I found today and was wondering about.BTW both Ms are 41s.
