My 1486 and both 1466 do the same thing. I have run 15-40 rotella oil for many years. They all start to turn black after about ten hours after a oil change and tractors have some blow by right after you start them . I usually have to add two to four quarts of oil in between oil changes and change oil in all my IH tractors 100 - 120 hrs.
