i would find this to be normall most of the trucks i work on and tractors i work on all do this you start it to check for leaks turn it off check the oil and its black - no big deal this is actually good - it means the oil is doing its job and suspending the soot and not letting it settle into corners etc in the block -
my 99 powerstroke for some reason no matter what oil i use in it takes 1000mi to turn black why i dont know but its been that way since ive owned it i guess it just depends on the engine etc
