The 5100-5200 MAXXUM series are the ones based on the 580 backhoes. The larger new MX MAXXUMS are not a 580 remake. IH had tons of great new innovative tractors scheduled for the 1980's. Too bad they were dumped in with CASE and all of that R&D was lost.
