F-30 is 24.9 at the drawbar and 32.8 at the belt. 5,300 lbs. without added weight. bore and stroke 4.25x5.00 inches 283.7 CID 1200 RPMs
M is 33.1 at the drawbar and 36.6 at the belt 4,900 lbs. without added weight. bore and stroke 3.875x5.25 inches 247.7 CID 1450 RPMs
so 9 more HP at the drawbar, but 400 lbs lighter. The F-30 is probably geared lower. I would expect the torque on the F-30 to equal or better the M at the same RPM. The f-30 should lug better, but the M with 9 more HP should be able to pull an extra plow.
so, using the farmall Cub as the base (at 9 HP and a 1 12" plow tractor), the M should pull 1 more plow than the F-30. My conclusion, it is VERY close to a toss-up, but I give the M the edge. They are so close, not sure I want to put money either way.
all my comments are based upon each tractor being STOCK, and not modified. I am a big fan of torque, but you do need the ponies to get work done.
