Tires are going up up up all the time. Claiming the rising price of oil is the reason, but when oil came down tire prices didn't... Now oil's going back up and tire prices are going even higher.
Get it running, regardless of what you decide. Running will make it worth more to sell. Running might make you decide to keep it.
Kept indoors, if the tires hold air they will last forever. It'll give you plenty of time to hunt down a pair of used ones, or save for new ones. Paint it up with the crusty old tires on it.
