It's definitely not threaded. Also good advice from Bob M. That cover is HEAVY. I've helped with those covers on M's. And as Bob said, go very cautiously to keep all dirt and other foreign stuff out of there. What would cause those bolt heads to disappear? Do you live in a very harsh climate? Maybe salt air near an ocean?
