I too agree with Cowman. you are looking at minimally $1400 just for the pistons and sleeves. Unless your sleeves are totally junk, I would invest in the rings, valve job, and mag parts.
then take stock of where you are at. Hone it out and put new rings in. These old girls are NOT high compression or RPM's. If you are just going to show her, and light work, I would not get excited.
