Speed B., Several people have reported that the "chain" method works okay however, There is no way that the chain can get behind the baffle in the tank to "do it's thing" in the rear part of the tank.

I just removed my H's tank and had it cut open (on the bottom)in a "U-shaped" pattern to expose the rear portion behind the baffle. The baffle is actually two pieces, one that is welded into the top half of the tank and another baffle is welded into the bottom half. They meet in the middle of the tank about 1/8" to 1/4" apart fore & aft and overlap slightly top to bottom. After cutting it open, the radiator shop bead blasted the entire tank inside and out. Then, welded the U-shaped flap back into position. Total cost was $130.00 She is sqweeky clean and I don't have to worry about anything coming from the rear portion to cover over the sediment bowl opening while out on the back 40. //FB
