Thank you for your responses. Apparently, the purchase price for a small tractor is not important. However, since we are long time farmers (3 generations since 1910 in the San Joaquin valley), we carefully consider the purchase price of all ag-related equipment, irrespective of age or condition. I realize that the majority of participants of this website are hobbists or collectors and may have a limited commercial agricultural background. This site provides a useful forum for a positive discourse and exchange of information and ideas for all interested people. Buying tractors is not a new or novel experience for me. My latest tractor acquisition (about 2 weeks ago) was a new John Deere 6510 MFWD. This tractor is, arguably, the best 100 HP tractor made today and the most expensive. This tractor will complement our existing fleet of newer tractors as my sons and I make final preparations for the pending harvest. The little Farmall 200, if purchased, will pull a utility trailer to be used by the gardeners when maintaining the landscape around our ranch home and offices. Ray
