I tried a machine shop but they were not interested in trying. There are a few more around to try.
I thought about the drilling and tapping, but I was told by the machine shop that since the shaft was hardened it would be difficult to drill and tap it. Is this true????
There is also very, very little room behind it, so I do not think the head of a bolt would fit, but maybe a tapered phillips bolt would work.
The lock tight is an interesting idea, but I do not know if I would trust it. I think I will Loc tight it and then tack it if I have to.
Good news though, as my supplier has called India and they may have found the part I need. Escort tractors is still up and running over there, so there are parts.
Thanks for the offer Larry I will keep it in mind if I get desperate, but I think I would be pretty comfortable with the tack welds and some Loc tight though.
Thanks all for the help so far. I don't post much , but I visit almost every day. I have a 200 that my grandfather bought new 1954 I think.
