First rides I remember were on a 1942 JD B that Dad had. I even have an old picture Mom took of me, maybe 4 or 5 years old, sitting on that B belted up to the hammer mill. Used to sit on it while Dad was grinding feed. First tractor I remember driving was a Farmall Cub, pulling wagons up to the combine to unload oats, and first tractor I did any real work with was cultivating corn and mowing hay with a Farmall C... probably 9 or 10 years old at that time. Can't imagine putting a kid on one in the field at that age today, but I thought it was great. Luckily I was always tall for my age and could reach the clutch and brakes.
