I never have used splitting stand of any sort. I use over head hoists and simple cribbing blocks. I have done many a tractor that way. Block it up under the tranny and with over head hoists hoist the parts up and out of the way. Ya I know every body does not have that option and me I just keep improving what I have and as of this summer I have 4 over head hoists on a 20 foot I beam very nice
