A 544 hydro is a pretty neat little tractor. If you aren't going to use it for heavy pulling the hydro does not need to be in perfect shape. The gas has no sleeves but that is not a big deal when it is in the conditon that one is as you will want to tear the engine completely down anyway. If it has been towed around you might want to be careful as leaving the trans in high or low range and moving it can destroy a hydro in ten feet.
