I have all the original steering wheels on my restored letter series Farmalls and all have been refinished by Minn-Kota Repair. They just do a wonderful job and I would be surprised if they couldn't restraighten and repair your original. I've only had one that needed to be straighten and it came back perfect. About your concern if you get the original one or it is used as a core. You will get your original wheel back. The first ones I sent I identified with a steel stamp piece of metal attached on the wheel with my name and tractor s/n. The wheel I received back was the same one I sent as the fastening device for the wire was the one I used and it was not altered. What ever method they used to clean the wheel to bare metal before remolding the rubber grip was apparent on the metal tag as well. They have the correct feel as an original and the cost is very little more then the imported China junk which don't even look original. Hope this helps but I would certainly be surprised if you don't find them to be most satisfactory in their repair, Hal. P.S. I have no association whatsoever with Minn-Kota Repair other then being a most satisfied customer and have provided their name to many folks with whom I have become very good tractor associates.

Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
