Dad and I overhauled the engine and most of the trans of his M he picked up for $200 this winter. Got it back together and had oil running down the back side of the motor. Thought it was the plug at the back of the cam, so we split the tractor again and replaced it. Now it still leaks. The only thing left would be the rear main seal. It's new and looked fine from the outside. What's the chances of the plug leaking still or the seal being out? Either way, it's going to have to be split again, so it's on the back burner for now.
