If your tractor has a PTO on it, the shaft is already there under the bowl shaped cover. I always tell anyone that is looking for one of the belt pulley attachements for these tractors to get the gear that goes on the tractor shaft when they buy the pulley unit. If your tractor came from the factory without the pulley, likely there is only a spacer on the shaft where the gear that drives the pulley assembly goes. If you don't have the gear, you will have to find one. Pull the cover off and see what you have. Also, you will need shims to set the gear lash. These go between the belt pulley housing and the PTO housing. With the cover on there, there is just a gasket, but with the belt pulley, there is an O ring rather than the gasket so there is metal to metal contact and the gear lash can be properly set. So...I think you will need some more parts before you can put the belt pulley gear box on there.
