took my super a to a farmer that works on them because it was mking a clankin noise when moving.found the oiler gear that runs off the reverse gear was missing about 3 inches of teeth. he said his farmals dont have that gear and he doesnt no what its purpose is when all the lower gears kick up oil. so my question is can this toothless gear cause damage cause its about 800 to fix.

Re: broken oiler gear in reply to tcouch, 10-14-2008 18:32:00 My theory on why all the oiler gears have their teeth stiped is because if there is any water in the transmission (which there usually is) and it freezes in the winter those aluminum gear teeth will easily strip out when you start the tractor. Once some teeth are striped out, eventually they will all strip out. Roger
