Try jiggling the steering wheel with one hand while peering at the U joint. If the two shafts are moving together with no play then it is in the gearbox area. I had about 1/4 turn of play in mine and fixed it by taking off the big cap on the front of the steering gearbox and putting a big washer inside it so that the worm gear was restricted from traveling back and forth. At first it was too tight, so I ground a little off the face of the washer and then it was fine. Make sure you get the big cap really tight when you put it back on, mine fell off once after a month or two and I lost the steering completely. Zach
