I agree with gene b also. My Super C is still on 6 volts, and it will crank and start in below zero weather every time. Last winter it got so cold that my pickup wouldn't start. And I can pick up the 6 volt batteries for my old Super C for less than $50 at the local farm supply store? So what is the advantage of changing to 12 volts? Once the engine is running it doesn't care either. Are you going to get more horsepower out of the tractor to plow faster? And if you change to 12 volts, how long will the original starter and other electrical parts last? Mine are all original and it is a 1953 model! I regularly use it for brushhogging, running a 7' sickle mower and grading the driveway (1/4 mile long) with a belly dozer blade.
