Ron, I used to have that problem on my larger work tractors as those ribbed tractor style tires have that thin area between the ribs about the thickness of an inner tube. I got a pair of 10 or 12 ply recapped steel belted truck tires form a local tire shop he carries for the farm folks with the thorn problem. He might have other sizes but the ones I needed are the common 7.50 X 16 ones. They have a tread design like a heavy duty implement tire. Having a tread that doesn't bit as much in a turn hasn't been an issue but that is the only drawback I've seen. I've had them on the tractor for around 8-9 years now and never had another thorn related flat. The dealer is just off I-44 in St. James north on MO 68 a few blocks on the right.
