It is remarkable it starts as new considering 80% of the posts here on the forum have to be due with starting problems. You must be doing good maintenance. I used to have an old Datsun that was before fuel injection, it always ran like a champ, but points, plugs, coil, wiring was always up to spec, factory parts the best. I think some people don't know how to maintain older gas engines. I have a 30 year old Kubota diesel tractor and it sits for weeks at a time and it starts right up in a couple seconds. Nothing fancy there just good fuel and a little oil additive in the fuel once in a while.
