I peeked at this post and wonder if you could enlighten me on a 304 w/Holly carb and four-speed with the two-speed-split transmission. With this small engine, there won't be any rubber burning on the pavment. 1976-'80 I drove school bus and had the lone 1968 Loadstar 1600 - 345 w/same tranny. I learned to keep the rpm's up and got along fine.
"...The only problems were the gear shifter getting sloppy and the steering getting loose. The Holly 4bl. needed adjusting when the weather changed and replaced the end gaskets every two years. .."
I got a lead on one so now I have the itch and am wondering if I should scratch it. Sure wish I had the storage though. Thanks in advance for any input.
