Rebuilt the carburator on the f-12 today. Found a guy in town here(Santa Maria, Ca.)who had two kits for the 1" downdraft type carburator. The kits came with the throttle shafts and all. My question is when I was done the throttle shaft still has excess play around the bushing area. The instructions give old part numbers for the bushings from IH. If i go about installing new bushings for the throttle shaft can i do it with some judicious handrill work or should i take it to the machinist type guy and let him have a shot at it. Also where might i possibly buy these bushing assuming that my IH dealer is going to laugh at me, like everytime i walk in the door since buying my great old red iron. Thanks in advance for your response.
