First adjust the main clutch to spec, the adjust the TA clutch by the book before doing anything else. TA adjustment is simple, yet complicated, I would have to copy it out of the manual as I don't have it memorized. But, what you are doing is making the TA clutch disengage at about the same time as the main, I forget whether it is slightly before or after. Do this before you tear into it.
