The generator WILL charge at a higher rate with increased RPMS. That is perfectly normal, but 45 amps is rather high unless the battery was nearly flat, and after 10 minutes of running and charging, the battery should not be that flat. Probably would be a good idea to get the battery checked AND the regulator checked and tested.
